Is it anyone's bidness?

Chicagoist has a bit on Mayor Daley's new Chief of Staff, Ron Huberman In the comments are the following exchange:

WOW! Is Ron Huberman single?

I don't know if Ron is single, but I do know that he prefers to date men.

Ron prefers men? UGH! Good for the men, I guess. *sigh*

I have followed his career for a couple of years in the press as they have covered his meteoric rise from Rogers Park beat cop to No. 2 at City Hall. Certainly he is an attractive unmarried young man, but does that mean he's gay? Is it the public's business? While I conditionally support the outing of public figures when they act against the best interests of the GLBT community I don't feel all hunky dory about it. And I definintely don't want folks snooping around the personal life of a appointed offical if there is no case made to suggest its in the public's interest to do so.

I wish Mr. Huberman the best and hope for Chicago's sake he continues to perform as well as he has by all accounts in the past.

On the one hand, speculating on a public figure's sexuality is part & parcel of becoming a public figure in the first place these days. Not to mention, there's nothing wrong with it if he IS a gay. And what a role model to the kids, who these days only see meth addicts and scary AOL trolls among their high-profile gays and/or mayors.

On the other hand ... it's not outing if you don't have any proof! Just because he dates guys doesn't mean he's gay. Maybe he just got tired of paying for dinners?
how about i try sleeping with him. if he says no, he's definitely gay!
I have a Turnkey Royalty Free site/blog. It pretty much covers making money on the web.

Come and check it out if you get time :-)
No, it is not anyone's business and such rumors/accusations could make Huberman victim to prejudice. In another world/time he might be out, if indeed he were gay, but not today. Our private lives including our sexuality is our own business and no one elses -public servant/celebrity or not. Huberman has selflessly and well served this city - he could be making quadruple his salary in the private sector - and the details of his law abiding personal life should be beyond the queeny, shrill clutches of some self serving gay activist group. What does Huberman have in common, other than suggested sexuality, with such people anyway?
I was not sure to expect when I visited your blog. Well I think the information on this blog is great. I have my own blog and I wish I got half as many constructive comments as your blog does. Anyways, I am a teacher at a University and I am always doing research on various topics. This weeks topic relates 100% to your blog. I already bookmarked you for future use. If you want to exchange information I will leave my link at the bottom of this. If you dont mind I will add my 2 cents to this blog topic once in awhile. Although most of the time I just like to read and see what other peoples thoughts are! (hey I am a teacher!)

I really must say this is one of the most beneficial blogs I have ever come across. I am not just saying that to kiss up to you! I am doing a research paper for my master degrees and spent the last 10 hours (and 12 cups of coffee) researching this area topic. So many blogs have generic information but yours is different. I can actually apply some of this information to my works. No worries I will give you credit in my references. I took it upon myself to put you in my favorites and will visit back to let you know how my grade ends up. Many thanks!utah college of massage therapy.
I really must say this is the best blog I have ever come across in a very long time. I am not just saying that either! I am studying for my associates degrees and spent the last 5 hours (and 12 cups of java) researching this area topic. Many blogs have very generic information but yours is very different. I can actually apply some of this information to my associate studies. No worries I will give you full credit in my references section.(I will even give you a link in my blog!) I took it upon myself to add you to my favorites and will visit back to let you know how my grade ends up. Thanks so much from!massage therapy information.
Hello! This is a great blog. I just got back home from shopping with the wife and the kids and decided to log on and do some web surfing.(needed a break if you know what I mean) I came across your blog and really enjoyed it. Not many people keep their blogs up to date and most of the blogs I do fine are not even relevant to the blog topic. I bookmarked your blog for future reference.
Anyways keep up the great work and if you dont mind I will forward your blog off to a few of my buddies. Thanks a bunch!massage therapy clinic
